Now, onward with the holiday blogging before September is upon us!
On Friday we enjoyed spending time at Nana and Grandad Plummer's house.
And going on walks with some of our favourite people.
Audrey just ADORES her Great Nana and Great Grandad.
We went out for the day to a place called Holly Farm, a lovely little petting farm where Ian and I went a few years ago with Nana and Grandad when we visited to announce our engagement.
Little lady was in her element.
She got to ride on a little tractor!
Some of the "grown ups" also had a go!
Audrey got to meet some adorable baby cows. Although she looks timid in the pics, she really wasn't! She stroked them and mooed at them quite happily.
In fact, she was quite a lot braver than Aunty Holly!
Brave enough to ride on a donkey even! Yep, that's right, Audrey went on a donkey ride. I have all these memories of riding donkeys on the beach at Blackpool - now we know that most of those donkeys were in a bad situation, and they've been rescued from those places. The donkeys at Holly Farm are very well cared for and only do very gentle little rides for wee ones like Audrey.
We watched an older little girl ahead of us in the line get totally freaked out by the donkeys and felt sorry for her as her parents pushed her into going near to them despite her distress and begging not to, and worried that Audrey wouldn't feel comfortable riding on the donkey - we resolved to just let her say hi and get as close as she felt okay.
Well, we needn't have worried AT ALL. Little lady RAN up to those donkeys and all but flung her arms round them, yelling "don-key don-key don-key UH-OH UH-OH" (uh-oh is what she thinks donkeys say when they say ee-aw). Getting her to ride them was easy - getting her to STOP was the problem! She kept kicking her feet even after the ride was over, as if she was actually going to hijack this donkey.
Turns out our Audrey is a totally fierce animal lover. Who would have thought.
We said hi to more animals.
And headed home to play with bubbles in the garden.
Only one more day of holiday blogging to go. Woo!
