We spent last Sunday out at Gavia visiting Nana B and Grandad Pop. Audrey wasted no time getting stuck into the toy basket!
And also helping Dada play the piano - an important job!
The weather was beautiful, and we sat in the garden after lunch with the play sand and made sand castles.
Audrey had a wonderful time investigating (and eating) the sand.
It was lovely to spend time with the grandparents. Audrey is always a little shy at first, but then remembers who everyone is and settles down to have some fun.
Gavia is such a beautiful place. Very remote and wild, rugged and beautiful.
Audrey helped with the laundry...
She was so perfect and sweet in her summer dress in the sunlight.
Man, I love family. Being a family, being part of one. It was really good to see Barbara and Les, watching them with Audrey makes me feel so content.
We went on a walk around the beautiful garden - Nana and Grandad must work so hard on it. I can't even imagine tackling something of that size and scope, able as I am to kill even potted house plants.
The trees are just starting to blossom. It reminds me of this time last year, watching everything bloom and waiting for her to arrive.
Although I had a really horrible time when I was pregnant, the thought of those last few weeks when I was so nervous and so desperate to finally meet her and hold her is still nostalgic and sweet. I wonder if I'll always feel that way at this time of year.
It's spring, people!
Oh, Dada.
After the walk some of us were very tired and needed a nap.
Bye bye Gavia. I hope we see you again soon!
